What Sticks (2024)

What Sticks balances between two and three dimensions. It is flat and fragile, yet at the same time monumental and physically present. It consists of several hundred individual squares, cut apart and reconnected with masking tape.

The simple, repetitive act of taking them apart and joining them together again reminds me of growing up: the desire to separate yourself from the family you come from, while often, unconsciously, repeating the very patterns you believed you had left behind.
